Anthelmintic Evaluation of Eicchornia crassipes and Tecoma stans Flower Extracts

Eicchornia crassipes and Tecoma stans are used in folklore medicine for the treatment of various ailments including helminthiasis. The anthelmintic potential of different extracts prepared from E. crassipes and T. stans were tested on adult Indian earthworm (Pheretima posthuma). Two concentrations (100 mg/mL and 200 mg/mL) of each extract were used in the experiment, which involved the determination of the time of paralysis and time of death of the worms.
