This work introduces a soil discharging mechanism that involves water jetting to further the development of a seafloor robotic explorer that can excavate and collect samples of rare earth elements. The excavation depth of previously reported drilling robots has been limited to 430 mm; the discharging outlet became buried in the ground, making it difficult to discharge the drilled soil.doi:10.13180/clawar.2019.26-28.08.05 fatcat:qxu4jnxrb5fcfpzygn3be7vgym
