In this paper we present a methodology, called binding Business Applications to LEgacy systems (BALES), that allows to blend modem web-services with objectified legacy data and functionality in order to construct new business applications. The core of this methodology encompasses a linking phase, during which reusable portions of wrapped legacy data and functionality are determined, and subsequently linked to the interface of web-services.
