A Preliminary Calculation of 235U (n,2n) 234U Cross Sections [report]

Preliminary calculations of the total two-neutron emission cross section, 235U(n,2n) 234U and the partial two-neutron emission cross sections, 235u(n, 2ny) 234U, are presented. The 235U(n, 2ny) 234U cross sections describe the process of y-decays in the residual nucleus following the twoneutron emission and were calculated for several y-transitions between states of the ground-state band of the 234U nucleus. more » ... ed. In addition, fission competition as well as y-cascade were considered in the compound component of the cross section calculations. A comparison with the relevant experimental data obtained from the GEANIE detector at the LANSCE/WNR facility in Los Alamos was also carried out.
