Sleep disorders are important because they lead to many diseases and common in the society. For this reason, some tools have been developed to screen sleep disorders. The aim of our study is to investigate the Turkish validity and reliability of the Insomnia Complaints and Sleep Quality Basic Scale, which is short and easy to apply. Sociodemographic form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and Basic Scale on Insomnia Complaints and Quality of Sleep (BASIQS) scale were applied to the participants. After four weeks, a re-test was applied to a small group of 30 people from the same sample. Frequency distribution, factor analysis, Pearson correlation test, Cronbach α reliability coefficient analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: Of the participants, 53.3% (n = 96) were female and 46.7% (n = 84) were male. The ages of the individuals included in the study were between 20 and 40 years and the mean age was 30.6±5.6. The Cronbach alpha coefficient of the scale was calculated as 0,752. The correlation value between the total test scores in the first and second applications was found to be 0,639 (p <0.01). As a result of the factor analysis, it was understood that the scale has a two-factor structure. In the original study, a twofactor structure was mentioned, too. Conclusion: In our study, it was concluded that BASIQS scale is a valid and reliable screening scale in Turkish society. It is important because it is short and can be applied easily and can be used widely in daily practice.
