Brushless dc (BLDC) motors and their drives are penetrating the market of home appliances, HVAC industry, and automotive applications in recent years because of their high efficiency, silent operation, compact form, reliability and low maintenance. In most of these applications precise control is not required and hence sensor less method can be applied. Radiator fans are one such application where the speed control precision does not play a huge role but reducing number of components and cost is important.
