Medieval criminality has been explored extensively since the twentieth century. Nevertheless, criminality committed by ethnic minorities has never played a major role in these works. Thus, our aim with this article is to make an intensive study of pardon letters issued at the request of Jews, during the reign of D. João II, in order to conclude if Jewish criminality has specific characteristics.
