The present study analyzed the application of the Driving Forces-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) model as a decision-making tool for the development of effective public policy, based on the production of maps and the formulation of proposals that aim to improve the quality of life of the population of the Guaribas basin, in northeastern Brazil.
