Abstract: In the following article, three major ideas are presented: The first one is related to the tension between theory and practice as a source of educational problems; the second one is related with the lack of positivist and interpretative criteria to judge the educational activity as scientific on the light of the understanding of the relations theory-practice; and the third one is directly related to the need of fostering the scientific thinking and attitudes of teachers as a requirement to make education a scientific activity. Not for the subjection to a group of unequivocal methodological rules, but for the acceptance of the new ways of understanding the rationality from a complex perspective of reality.
