Amyloidosis is a rare disease characterized by the deposition of an insoluble fibrillar protein in various organs and classified into two categories: systemic and localized. In the oral and maxillofacial region, the occurrence sites of localized amyloidosis are the buccal mucosa, sublingual gland, lip, palate and tongue.
