Bus-Net, the public transit navigator system developed by Tottori University, has been introduced in Tottori prefecture in Japan. The system has log data that show the users' future movement plans. This study defines users' origin-destination information stored in the path finding system as their movement desire. more » ... he origin-destination information with the statistical techniques of principal component analysis since the origin-destination information has a large number of possible combinations of origins and destinations. Moreover, this study finds the day variation and the month variation of each movement desire by using time series analysis. As a result, we detected the traffic characteristics of Tottori city such as the movement desire of commuters in winter when snowing surface freezing affect traffics, and the movement desire of tourists who travel among famous tourist spots and transportation facilities (such as airport and station).
