The Decent Wage Myanmar project aimed to collect wage data and cost of living data for the creation of a level playing field in tripartite negotiations and consultations, in preparation of establishing new minimum wage levels in the country, which is scheduled to be concluded July 2020. The Myanmar Decent Wage Survey 2019 aimed to report in detail the wages earned by Myanmar workers, including the self-employed, in selected sectors and regions. See for details about the project:

The four selected regions were Ayeyarwady, Bago, Mandalay and Yangon. The selected five sectors were in garment (all regions), construction (Yangon), fishing (Ayeyarwady, Yangon), prepa­ring food stuff/food processing and storing (Yangon), and agriculture (all regions).
