End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is the most advanced stage of kidney failure in which kidney function is irreversibly lost. Incidence of ESRD have increased in recent times due to increase in life expectancy and increase in prevalence of life style diseases disorder followed by hemodialysis. Depression is more common in patients on dialysis than in general population and is associated with poor prognosis. Early recogni psychiatric symptoms will improve the prognosis in this population group.
