Myocardial infarction in young adults: A smoldering epidemic – A study from south India

Advancing age is a well-acknowledged risk factor for acute myocardial infarction (MI) in both men and women. Although MI is usually the disease of people above 45 years of age, an increasing number of younger patients are presenting with premature MI. In India, CAD manifests almost a decade earlier than in the Western countries.
