On the 24th of last September Mr. Ernest Shoemaker and I went insect-collecting along the edge of the meadow on the south side of Long Island, not far from the Brooklyn City line. We were searching particularly forCincindelasbut, the day being rather cold, we did not see as many as we had expected.
