The students of Pgsd have difficulty in learning mathematics, because of the method that is used by lecturer is not appropriate. As the result the students' achievement in mathematics are not optimal. The researcher has used cooperative model to overcome this problem. The instrument of data gathering consist of observation sheets, test and questionare. The research results showed that ;The students' activities in learning mathematics showed cooperative model, where the students have responsibility to their tasks, work together, help each other, and communicate each other. It can be concluded that the students' learning activities and achievement in learning mathematics by using cooperative model type jigzaw at PGSD FIP UNP had improved.Consequently the mathematics lecturers at PGSD frequently use cooperative model type jigsaw in learning. Keyword: Cooperative model type jigsaw Pendahuluan Berdasarkan analisis kondisi pembelajaran dasar-dasar matematika SD di PGSD, ternyata tidak sedikit mahasiswa yang menyatakan kesulitan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dasar-dasar matematika SD. Salah satu penyebabnya diduga metode pembelajaran yang digunakan dosen kurang tepat. Akibatnya, kemandirian mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran belum terlatih dan proses pembelajaran berlangsung dengan kaku, yang pada akhirnya kurang mendukung pengembangan pengetahuan, sikap, moral, dan keterampilan mahasiswa. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan di atas, maka upaya peningkatan kualitas proses pembelajaran dasar-dasar matematika SD merupakan suatu kebutuhan yang sangat mendesak untuk di lakukan. Salah satu tindakan yang peneliti lakukan adalah dengan melaksanakan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe Jigsaw. Alasan peneliti/dosen menggunakan cooperative learning tipe Jigsaw karena; 1) Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa PGSD. Tujuan pendidikan di PGSD mendidik mahasiswa menjadi guru SD yang profesional. Pembelajaran dengan model cooperative learning tipe Jigsaw disamping membahas materi secara berkelompok, juga mengajarkannya kepada teman-teman anggota kelompoknya dan mempresentasikan di depan kelas.
