This study is aimed at developing an empirical model to estimate the heating value of municipal solid waste as a function of its element content (C, H, N, S, O). A correlation was developed using multiple stepwise regression analysis based on 29 samples of municipal solid waste that were randomly selected and gathered from 29 different areas in Semarang. Experimental results show that carbon and hydrogen are statistically significant predictors of the heating value. The model isfatcat:vuqta2hyijadddvsttbnukmfy4
