CLIMATOLOGIA DA ESTAÇÃO CHUVOSA DE MINAS GERAIS: DE NIMER (1977) À ZONA DE CONVERGÊNCIA DO ATLÂNTICO SUL
1998
Revista Geonomos
The climate of Minas Gerais state, Brazil, is described by the association of tropical and extratropicalphenomena which determine two seasons: dry and wet. This association is known as South AtlanticConvergence Zone - ZCAS causing intense, continuous rain, which can last several days. This paperdescribes the ZCAS and its effects over Minas Gerais. It also indicates a parallel between thisclimatological feature and the description of the Climate of southeastern Brazil, by Edmon Nimer, anwell known climatologist by Brazilian Geographers.
