DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENT WORK SHEETS BASED PREDICT-OBSERVE-EXPLAIN ON CLASS IV NATURAL SCIENCE LESSONS

This study aims to produce teaching materials in the form of Predict-Observe-Explain-based student worksheets in the fourth grade on natural science lessons with the theme of Always Saving Energy which are valid, practical, and effective in improving understanding of the concepts. Data collected sequentially were analyzed using the Content Validity Index (CVI), Descriptive Statistics, and Independent Sample t Test. The results obtained were Predict-Observe-Explain student worksheets: 1) content valid criteria with a CVI value of 0.9, 2) good practicality criteria with a percentage of 79.56%, and 3) effective criteria in increasing understanding of the concept of Natural Sciences with evidence of a significant difference between an increase in the average understanding of the concept of experimental class science by 21.3750 higher than the increase in understanding of the concept of science in the control class of only 16.2500. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja siswa berbasis Predict-Observe-Explain pada pelajaran IPA kelas IV tema Selalu Berhemat Energi yang valid isi, praktis penggunaan, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsepnya. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan mixed method dengan metodologi Research and Development (R&D) dengan prosedur pengembangan yang terdiri dari 4 langkah yaitu 1) define, 2) design, 3) develope, 4) disseminate. Selanjutnya instrumen pengumpul data menggunakan lembar angket validasi produk oleh pakar, lembar angket respons guru , dan butir soal pemahaman konsep IPA. Data yang terkumpul secara berurutan masing-masing dianalisis menggunakan Conten Validity Index (CVI), Statistika Deskriptif, dan Independent Sample t Test. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu lembar kerja siswa Predict-Observe-Explain : 1) berkriteria valid secara isi dengan nilai CVI sebesar 0.9, 2) berkriteria kepraktisan yang baik dengan persentase 79.56 %, dan 3) berkriteria efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA dengan bukti adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kenaikan rata-rata pemahaman konsep IPA kelas eksperimen sebesar 21.3750 lebih tinggi dibanding kenaikan pemahaman konsep IPA pada kelas kontrol yang hanya sebesar 16.2500.
