Transmission power in some particular cases of bi- or tri-dimensional complex systems

In a complex system, mutual information measures the information common to the variables involved. In more than two dimensions, it indicates the level of synergy between variables or the level of self-organization or how central coordinated the system is. Mutual information has a lower and an upper bounds that vary according to the system's configuration. In this paper, we analyse the complex system of the Triple Helix of university-industry-government relationships from the information theory
more » ... oint of view. We find out general characteristics of bi-and tri-dimensional configurations where mutual information reaches its bounds; we compute efficiency, unused capacity and transmission power for such systems as well as for some particular cases.
