Ventriculoperitoneal shunt (VPS) is the conventional method of managing hydrocephalus until recently that endoscopic third ventriculostomy is becoming popular. The major disadvantage of VPS is the fact that it constitutes a foreign body and prone to complications such as mechanical blockage, shunt infection, shunt migration and rarely shunt protrusion.
