Case A : the rearl 且g temperature 藍 s 27 . 5℃ and long day photoper 董 od ( 16 hours in Iight and 8 hours in dark per day ) , high population density ( that is 1 pairs ( of adult ) or 20 重 arvae per rearing tube) , seedling of rice plant as food . Case B : temperature , p 血otoperiod and food are the same as in the case A ,10w populatio皿 density ( that is l pair ( of adult ) or l larva per rearing tube ) . Case C : tempera 撫 re , phQ と operiod a 彑 d population dens孟ty are the same as in case A ,1eaf sheath of rice plant give ロ as food . Case D : 28 ℃ Qf rearing temperature , short day photoperiod ( that is 8 hours in light and 16 hours in dark per daア) , population de 且sity and food condition are the same as in case D . 齟 The incubation periods of the eggs from the femaIe which are deposited b ア the female ( brachypterous ) of case B , become 玉 Qnger than that of the e 奮gs produced by the female ( macropterous ) of case A ( the differe 皿 ce can be seen at 90% level Qf co 皿 負deEce limit ) . Comparing the incubation periods of the eggs wh 童 ch are depos 芝 ted by the macropter 〔 》 us female of case A with that of the eggs which are produced by the macropterous female of case C , the incubation Periods of the former are longer than that of the latter ( the differe 皿 ce can be seen at 8 % level of con 負dence limit) . There is no clear difference among all cases in the relat { on between temperature and developmental periods of the larvae produced by tbe females which were reared under the different conditions me 且 tio江 ed above 、 The develepmentat zeros and the tQta1 effective tempera 亡 ures ill the egg a 皿 d each larval stage of progeny are different , when thetr parent was reared under the different condl 亡 ions. The mortality during the larval stage is highest when the larvae were reared at 30 ℃ and lowest at 22 . 5℃ .
