SIR MALCOLM KNOX A revised and enlarged version of his Gilford Lectures. It begins by arguing that to have a religion is reasonable; it then answers the questions 'What religion' and ' How much of orthodox Christianity is it reasonable to believe?' 40s Argues for the cognitive nature of religious discourse, showing that such discourse can qualify as cognitively significant without having to satisfy the verification requirement. Secondly, it shows that it does in fact satisfy such a re quirement
