... papers were selected and analyzed based on qualitative methods. The research was supported in six categories that considered technical aspects and the conceptualization of biodiversity (dimensions). After analyzing the data, it was observed that most of the studies were accomplished in public education institutions and aimed aspects such as the survey of conceptions about biodiversity; the construction of conceptual knowledge, as well as values and attitudes focused on preservation and socio-environmental problems. Nevertheless, the lack of studies that deal with biodiversity in a more integrative way, considering the functional, genetic and phylogenetic dimensions, was identified. Based on the results obtained here, we emphasize a need for further studies to contemplate a more relational and integrated view of biodiversity; overcoming specific and fragmented perspectives on the subject.
