The cervical cancer is one of the most common gynecological cancers worldwide. In many countries high percentages of morbidity and mortality are observed, something that reflects the lack of screening programs and the non-equal access to Primary Health Centers. The last decades has identified that the cause of cervical cancer are some strains of the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). more » ... cer, in this diploma thesis are presented the primary and secondary prevention, and also the statistics of the department of Preventive Medicine of the Health Center of Kallithea. At last, it is major to refer that in th Greek population is observed increase of the percentages of women who are putting theirselves into Pap test, something which maybe the next years will decrease the incidents of cervical cancer in Greece.
