In the present work we carried out the assesment of the generalized scale-similarity model (CB -Cs)(9) in compressible homogeneous isotropic turbulence at a moderately high Reynolds number, by comparing with previous dynamic subgrid-scale (SGS) stress models, viz, the dynamic Smagorinsky model (DSM)(4)( 5 ), the dynamic mixed model( 15 ) and the dynamic two-parameter mixed model"). In the "a priori" test, it was shown that the SGS stress tensor obtained using the CB-Cs model had the closest

In an actual large-eddy simulation, it was shown that both the development of turbulent energy and the evolution of the turbulent structure, such an the vortex tube, predicted using the CB -CS model were close to those of the filtered DNS data. The primary cause for a high accuracy of the scale-similarity model was explored.
