【Purpose】We retrospectively investigated the eŠect of administering ketamine as an anesthetic adjuvant on postoperative acute pain after thoracoabdominal aortic replacement. 【Method】The participants were 42 patients who underwent thoracoabdominal or descending thoracic aortic replacement at our institution between 2015 and 2019. Postoperative fentanyl doses were compared between the intraoperative ketamine use and non-use groups, using the inverse probability of treatment weighting. 【Result】The
more » ... mean postoperative fentanyl dose was not signiˆcantly diŠerent between the ketamine use (28.0 mg/kg) and non-use (21.7 mg/kg) groups (p=0.20). 【Conclusion】Our results suggest that intraoperative ketamine use during thoracoabdominal aorta replacement may not reduce the postoperative fentanyl dose.
