In the article, on the basis of archival documents introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, various aspects of the reform of school education in the Central Black Earth Region in the early 1930s are investigated. The author examines measures aimed at introducing the principles of polytechnism into education, provides data on changes in the student population and the quality of education over the years of the reform.
