ABSTRACT This article refers to an experience report on the use of the cognitive assistant THOTH (acronym for Training by Highly Ontology-oriented Tutoring Host

The development had as theoretical premises adaptive learning, Daniel Dennett's theory of intentional posture, mentioning the taxonomy of Bloom's objectives and elements of micro-learning. Knowledge is stored in an ontology composed of objects with high granularity, in the form of triple object-attribute-value, making it possible to retrieve content via natural language in an ergonomic interface, simulating a chatterbot. In addition to the knowledge itself, THOTH allows the student to self-manage learning, follow-up graphics and presentation of exercises with object-oriented feedback. The application context took place in a higher technology course in Systems Analysis and Development, in the discipline of Applied Artificial Intelligence. The study methodology included a survey of perception of the tool with questions on a Likert scale, after the initial use of THOTH by the students. The results were ranked qualitatively in two categories: intentionality and interactivity. In a preliminary way, there was a good acceptance of the tool by the students, with a better performance in the aspects of the tool's interactivity and indicating points of improvement for those of intentionality. In general, THOTH demonstrated the potential for use in content tutoring processes, with a student with special educational needs being relevant to mention, presenting paraplegia; expressing themselves positively regarding the use of the tool.
