Magnetic and Structural Properties of nitrified FINEMET Powders by Using Mechanical Milling Method
2007
Transactions of the Materials Research Society of Japan
The magnetic and structural properties of FINEMET [Fen 5 Si 13 . 5 B 9 Nb 3 Cu 1 wt %] amorphous powder were investigated after nitrification and mechanical milling. Fe-based amorphous powder was nitrified and crystallized simultaneously at 550 OC by using ammonia(NH 3 ) gas. Nitrified powder exhibits iron nitride phases such as y'-Fe 4 N, Fe 3 N and a"-Fe 16 N 2 • Nitrified particles were more brittle than raw particles. As a result, nanometer sized nitride powder was fabricated by a high
