This paper reviewed the concept of food bank; the food security situation in Nigeria; the public health issues arising from food insecurity and sources of food for charitable organizations. Acil g›da ihtiyaçlar› için; araflt›rmac›lar taraf›ndan ortaya konan açl›k ve yetersiz beslenme ve sa¤l›k sorunlar› komplikasyonunun iyilefltirilmesi için bir sistem olarak g›dalar›n g›da bankas›na verilmesinin sa¤lanmas› çok önemlidir. G›da yetersizli¤i yani g›da güvencesizli¤i Nijerya'da oldukça önemli bir problemdir.
