This article is a contribution to an ongoing discussion on what mathematical experiences are essential in pre-service teachers' education. Examples of activities and investigations for pre-service teachers are presented. Most of the activities are targeted towards pre-service secondary school teachers, however, some are appropriate for elementary school teachers as well.
