Enchondromas are benign, solitary bone tumors originating from hyaline cartilage, that are usually located in the upper and lower extremities. They are equally distributed in both genders and in all age groups. 40 -65% of enchondromal cases are found in metacarpal bones. The most common involvement is the proximal phalanx, metacarpal bone, and distal phalanx. Involvement of distal phalanx in patients with enchondroma is rare.
