A large number of general Qur'anic Signs and multi-narrated Hadīth apparently contradict single-narrations in Sunnah. However, the Qur'anic Signs and multi-narrated Hadīth are superior in rank to Hadīth of single-narration. This condition gave rise to a dispute among scholars with regard to that contradiction. Some scholars supported the preference of the generalized absolute text being superior in rank, and the Hadīth, authentically attributed to the Prophet (PBUH).
