The study examined the trend in growth rates of major cereals viz., maize, paddy, sorghum and wheat in Karnataka by using the compound growth rate function. For an in-depth analysis of trend and growth rates in area, productivity and production of cereals, major 5 districts for each crop based on the highest area were selected for the study.
