The magnitude of waste stream hasacquired some abrupt dimensions, with correspondingineffective and inadequate management strategies, including insufficient funding on the part of government. In a year, solid waste generation in Ethiopia is estimated 8.8 million tons. In kilinto condominium site waste collection method is poor, most of solid waste is packing by plastic and collect the nearby collection area on road and then, in minimum fifteen days had been leftover on the road. Finally small

The main objective of the research is to determine the calorific value for household solid waste and management from kilinto condominium site, and specificallyto determine the physical andchemical analysis of household solid waste. For this study, the methodology that follows was purposive sampling and stratified randomsampling in 12 blocks, from each block six house solid waste were collected and exipermental work was done according to the procedure ASTM. Sample collection and preparation, Household solid waste quantification, Physcal and chemical characteristics solid waste, determination of heating value of Household solid waste was determined ,Statistical analysis were done by ANOVAand Management options were developed according to the result obtained. The per capital solid waste generation rate of households in the residentarea of kilinto was found to be 0.6 kg/cap/day for residential households investigated. It has beenrevealed that the largest constituent of residential solid wasteis food-waste be 57 % and followed by plastic bottles & bags 23 %, papers and cardboards10 % and the remaining 6 % and 4 % aremetals and other wastes (i.e. Bones, Diapers, pieces of cloth, Ceramic and Demolishing wastes). From the result of this survey it can be concludedthat, biodegradable solid waste constituted a lion share of the solid wastes generated [...]
