Closed-loop rate adaptive scheme with loss differentiation is basically change the rate and CW values. It also thinks about collisions which causes frame loss. There is a one extra byte in DATA packet which has information about environmental energy level. It introduces a table called RS table which is used to give suggestion about suitable rate. CRAS algorithm maintains high throughput and high packets delivery ratio comparable to other adaptation techniques. Comparing to other techniques CRAS-LD algorithm gives low delay and less packet drop.
