This work describes the fabrication of porous some metal films by electrochemical formation and electrochemical dealloying of Zn alloys in a ZnCl 2 -EMIC ionic liquid, without using hazardous acids or bases. The effects of the amounts of deposited zinc, deposition potential, current, and temperature on the pore structure are described.
