This report provides an overview of activities implemented within a dedicated project on cooperation with the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) partner countries entitled as "Preparatory measures for the participation of the Neighbourhood countries in EFSA". Through this dedicated project EFSA has developed cooperation and established a network of contact points in 15 ENP partner countries: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, the State of Palestine 1 , Tunisia and Ukraine. Based on the input provided by the beneficiaries it appears that the awareness and understanding of EFSA's role as well as outputs at international level and the scientific basis for European measures taken in the areas covered by EFSA's remit has been significantly improved. EFSA has established initial contacts and gathered valuable information to better understand the partner countries needs and priorities, and to map the risk assessment resources and capacities. Based on the revised EU policy on cooperation with the neighbourhood countries, EFSA will further develop collaboration with ENP countries to support the implementation of instruments and tools for data collection via the promotion of networking and joint activities between EFSA, ENP partner countries and the EU Member States.
