In today's scenario where the world is moving towards digitization data is growing at an exponential rate. It has gone from scarce to superabundant. Few years back when rate of data generation was very less, it was quite feasible to record it using any form of energy, spanning from muscular power in handwriting, to electromagnetic energy modulating magnetic tape and optical disks.To manage such a superabundant amount of data cloud storage emerged as a solution.It provides storage as a service

With this Software Defined Storage(SDS) came into the picture.EMC introduced EMC ViPR Controller which provides SDS automation that centralizes and transforms multivendor storage into a simple and extensible platform. EMC released ViPR as an open source project and named it as CoprHD into the open source community. In CoprHD Storage Devices are controlled and accessed by REST API which defines a set of functions through which developers can send requests and receive responses via HTTP protocol such as GET and POST.CoprHD provides storage provisioning facility but somewhere low level control on the physical devices is lost. Thus, our work is considered with providing such control to the users by providing them options to choose Storage devices which create volumes directly on the Storage pools at the back-end.
