1995 Information and Communication Technologies in Tourism
With the increased vulnerability of the information society, users have to be convinced that the systems they use are secure and therefore socially acceptable. There are several legal rules which demand secure systems. Base Line Security concepts will help to achieve an adequate level of security. Traditional procedures have to be replaced by more adequate ones, like the use of digital signatures as a new method of authentication. These procedures are currently tested in multinational pilot projects and could be used in tourism.
