Precipitation Hardening Mechanism in Ni-Base Wrought Superalloys
1981
Transactions of the Japan Institute of Metals
New expressions for precipitation hardening due to ordered, misfit-free particles were developed on the basis of a realistic evaluation of the particle spacing along a dislocation in Udimet 520. Such expressions had a clear difference from the existing theories based on the theoretical predictions of particle spacing. Precipitation hardening in Udimet 520 and several Ni-Al alloys was revealed to be in excellent quantitative agreement with the new expressions.
