The amount of unexpended funds: $0.-This project aimed at cultivating previously uncultivated microorganisms and their consortia that are involved into metal immobilization in groundwater at selected FRC sites. The principle objectives were to cultivate the main microbial players in the target environment, determine their rates of metal immobilization, and investigate whether the presence of synergistic species enhanced the rate of this immobilization.
