In the progression of Parkinson's disease (PD), non-motor symptoms are important as motor symptoms. Furthermore, in some conditions, non-motor symptoms deteriorate quality of life more than motor symptoms. Akathisia frequently coexists with anxiety, which is a non-motor symptom of PD. Akathisia should be questioned in routine examinations of Parkinson's patients since its early diagnosis and treatment may improve quality of life.
