Between 1937Between and 1945Between and between 1964Between and 1985 Brazil experienced the oppression of authoritarian regimes. The politician and philosopher Edgar Godói da Mata Machado devoted his life and his work to combat such systems. The intellectual output of Mata Machado reflects the political activism of the author. Mata Machado seeking an alternative to the "totalitarian spirit" in Christian Philosophy. The catholic intellectual bases his thinking on the doctrine of Thomas Aquinas.
