He not only describes the cities with geographical and spatial structure, the cities with political and cultural symbols, as well as the life scenes of American cities -Chicago and New York. It is through people􀆳s activities and events in the city to trigger people􀆳s indepth thinking modern urban problems caused by activities and events of people in the cities, guiding them to take steps to solve the ailments of the cities that cause " urban sorrow" .
