It is known that central injection of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) suppresses feeding in rats and chicks, but the systems for GLP-1 are still open with special reference to the chick. The present study was done to determine whether the endogenous opioid system contributes to the anorexigenic effect of GLP-1 on the neonatal chick.
