It shows an attempt to examine the expressive possibilities of the title and to reveal its connection with the author's opinion and the moral problems of the novel. This paper analyzes the main values on which, according to Gary, the society of the XX century is based. The article emphasizes the images of «sky» and «roots» which allows us to find out if they are true or false.
