ENHANCING THE LIVES OF THE AGED IN A RETIREMENT CENTER THROUGH A PROGRAM OF READING

Readarama, a weekly reading group, was conducted in a retirement center in Athens, Georgia. Participants in the voluntary grouP were retired women who were lifelong readers and who continued to enjoy readang as a hObby. Because of differences in reading interests and in tine available for reading, members read independently during tha week; Readarama time was used for discussionsl of individual reading and for the exchange of ideas and reminiscencles.
