Chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) has lately become a neglected phenomenon. However, in recent years, investigations of the possible risk factors (type of surgery, preoperative pain, acute postoperative pain, and psychological and genetic factors) have also gained as much importance as the clinical problem.
